Not a problem for the delay! I'm happy to see someone else is thinking "firefly" for what to wear. Although I'm leaning more towards Simon than the Captain.

Thanks Kent. I'm glad there's an outlet for offbeat grooms on the web. Also, way to rep Ann Arbor. I'm originally from Flint and am a lifelong UM fan. Woot!

Thank You !

I was not sure I have a few questions, like what it is from the guy's perspective etc. etc. Seems really cool in here!

Can't wait to give my FH some of your great ideas!

I worked for a company called Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Austin and we premiered Serenity about two months b4 it came out in theater on the land where the Alamo movie was filmed (the set is still mostly up...people get married there).
The idea was ya know, space western, alamo....etc. It was a great time and two of the actresses were there. The engineer and the companion. It was cool and I got to bring them to the set from the airport.

The very first?!?! You're kidding!! I'm here for ideas. What do offbeat grooms like to wear on their heads? I've hit a creative brickwall.

About Me:
I suppose, if anything, I'm an offbeat groom. My beautiful bride-to-be, Kat, introduced me to the Offbeat Bride site and was worried whether or not I was interested in our wedding. The truth is, I was unsure of where to start. She was constantly embroiled in that website and I really liked what I saw. I'm 24 years old and I'm going to be marrying the girl of my dreams, I just needed help focusing all of that energy. It was later on suggested to me by Ariel, creator of the Offbeat Bride Tribe and author of the book, The Offbeat Bride, that I start a site of my own, so here it is!
Website (or wedsite):

Share a couple of offbeat details from your wedding:
We are planning a non-religious ceremony that will take place outside (hopefully) and may have a very offbeat mixture of themes. We're huge fans of Joss Whedon's Firefly, as well as the recently released movie, Stardust, so I would really like to incorporate a variety of those themes into our wedding.
What is one idea for your wedding you've been the most afraid to suggest to your fiance?
We are both HUGE fans of wrestling, and I'm a little bit more obsessed then she is. I'm so much of a fan, that I've wanted to invite actual professional wrestlers to our wedding and I wanted to wear a championship belt at our ceremony. God, I'm such a dork.
What one thing do you want to have at the wedding more than anything else?
Intimacy. I can't STAND crowds of people.
What wedding tradition do you dislike most?
Bachelor/bachelorette parties. Why the hell do you need to have "one last time" in order to feel good about getting married? It's supposed to be a wonderful event in your life and you're supposed to be marrying this person because they are the only person in your world. I know my fiance is that person to me and I don't want to spend a single moment without her and I really don't need "one more night of freedom". I don't feel I'm being trapped.

The Birth of the Offbeat Groom Gang

Hey Guys (and gals)!

I've gotta say that I'm hella excited to have you here! After only TWO days on the Offbeat Bride Tribe, I knew it was necessary for the guys to have a place to call home, so the Offbeat Groom Gang was born. After much support from Ariel, creator of the Offbeat Bride Tribe and author of the book, The Offbeat Bride, here we are. So mingle, discuss, figure things out. I know it might seem hard at first, but trust me, you get over that really quick. It's an onbeat world… Continue
