Okay guys..here is goes...HE is a Semi-pro football player who loves stuff like Hockey, Martial Arts UFC...etc. etc. We are extreme opposites as well.....one thing we do agree on? Nothing "Bridal" for our big day (except the dress and the rings..he insists on traditional for that) In fact we are even doing a "couple's prank" on our guests for the reception because we are goofy like that....my question is I want to incorporate his football without making it seem over the top...I know the groom cake is the standard and I am even thinking about having the reception at a local tavern that looked awesome. Any other ideas?
I want him to be part of this because it is OUR day......and let him know I am thinking of him...

Will any of his teammates be there? If so, is there anything you could do with them? Maybe, and I know this might sound cheesy, they could do some kind of football huddle with you and your fiancee inside and that's how you emerge to greet your guests. Again, kind of cheesy, but it could be fun. If I think of anything else, I'll let you know!
Have them come out to the wedding with a standard football entrance. It could be really humorous and even if it is a little over the top you just have to do it the right way. Plus who cares as long as you both enjoy it.
Buy him a football trophy as a gift and inscribe your date and names on it.
Buy football jerseys with your new last names on it. Perhaps one could have the number of the month, one could have the day.
Make each table themed by a different team.
Have a football helmet chip bowl at the table.
Take some engagement photos of you guys playing football in the backyard.
I'll think of some more, I'm sure.
The Football Jersey is PERFECT....In fact he was looking to wear jeans the final half of the night...Maybe the first half wear the dress and then wear the Jersey and Jeans during the final half (NOTE THE FOOTBALL REFERENCE) So like (our last name) Him 12 Me 4 (The date) That is AWESOME..I will get to cracking on that ASAP....His school colors are Orange and Navy Blue, Mine are Navy Blue and Gold....but He played for the Redskins (for like....6 days) and I am a Huuuuge Redskins fan...so maybe that...hmmmmm
You gotta remember always that this is YOUR wedding, nobody else's. This is the one day in your lives that you get to have things your way. Think of it as a blow-out party that you both get to throw. Don't let ANYBODY else tell the either of you w...
